Five little changes that can make a big difference in how you look

Five little changes that can make a big difference in how you look

The change of the seasons may inspire you to undergo a transformation, but going through a makeover is time-consuming and oftentimes overwhelming. Fortunately, there are some relatively small and quick changes you can make in your appearance that can have a big impact on your overall look. Here are some ideas:
Just a few inches, please
Changing up your hairdo is one way to make a big alteration in your appearance without taking a major risk. After all, hair grows back, so even if you aren't fond of your new 'do, you will be rid of it in a few weeks or months. If you've been telling your hairdresser you want the "same old thing" every time you're in the chair, consider asking him or her to take off a few more inches. Going from shoulder- to chin-length hair may seem like a drastic change, but that's what makeovers are all about. Alternatively, you can add a little spice into your life by giving your hair a dash of color. Instead of going from all brunette to all blond (or vice versa), consider adding just a streak or two of color to your hair. This look is both trendy and edgy.
Revitalize your skin
If cutting off some of your hair seems too intimidating, then you can give yourself a more subtle change by scheduling an appointment for microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. Both of these minimally invasive aesthetic procedures can be performed in a short amount of time, and you won't need to spend weeks on your back recovering like you would after a more intensive plastic surgery procedure. While people won't stare open-mouthed at your new look like they might if you change your hair color, you can count on the fact that more than a few of your friends and family will remark on your stunning, youthful complexion.
New accessories for a new season
Wouldn't it be nice if you could revamp your entire wardrobe every season? This fantasy is likely out of reach for those of us with a shopping budget, but you can give yourself a new look by purchasing a few accessories every few months. Jewelry, sunglasses, hats and bags are less expensive, but having new accessories can make it appear as though you've changed your entire wardrobe.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections

If you want to reduce facial wrinkles and lines, hyaluronic acid may be a good choice as a dermal filler because of its compatibility with the human body.
In fact, this substance is found in almost every single living thing. In humans, it acts as a network that transfers essential nutrients from the bloodstream to skin cells.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in your body. High concentrations are found in soft connective tissues and in the fluid surrounding your eyes. It's also in some cartilage and joint fluids, as well as skin tissue. It is extracted and reformulated and now has become one of the most popular kinds of injectable fillers. If the term sounds familiar, it's because the same substance is often injected into the aching joints of people with arthritis to ease pain and provide extra cushioning. Brand names include Captique, Esthélis, Elevess, Hylaform, Juvéderm, Perlane, Prevelle, Puragen and Restylane. Hyaluronic acid is not derived from animal sources.
When this gel is injected, it acts like an inflated cushion to support facial structures and tissues that may have lost volume or elasticity due to normal aging. It also brings water to the surface of skin to keep it looking fresh and supple.
In the last few decades, various synthetic forms of hyaluronic acid have been developed and used to correct disorders in the fields of rheumatology, ophthalmology, and wound repair. More recently, synthetic forms of hyaluronic acid are being manufactured for use in face augmentation.

Non-toxic sunscreen ..

Can you find a non-toxic sunscreen at your conventional pharmacy, department store or grocery retailer? Probably not as most of the commercialized versions are filled with toxic additives and preservatives. Even children’s sunscreens contain many dangerous chemicals. Here is an excellent recipe for a non-toxic sunscreen that contains natural ingredients and will keep your skin healthy and glowing while protecting you from the sun just long enough so you won’t burn with moderate sun exposure.
New York Times Best selling author, Sophie Uliano of Gorgeously Green and her new book DO IT GORGEOUSLY, shows you how to make your own non toxic sunscreen in less than 4 minutes.
NOTE: Please omit zinc oxide from the recipe to make a truly natural and toxic free version of this sunscreen, especially during preparation. Zinc oxide can affect the lungs and reproductive system if inhaled. Replace the zinc oxide with 1 tablespoon of avocado oil which helps increase the sun protection factor (SPF).
Recipe: (SPF 6-8)
2 tablespoon Virgin Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon Shea Butter
1 tablespoon Avocado Oil
1/2 teaspoon Sesame Oil
1/2 teaspoon Aloe Vera Gel
Keep in mind that this recipe will not allow you to stay in the sun for hours without burning, even if you have darker skin. If you have pale skin and are prone to burning in very short periods, this recipe will only modestly protect you when UV rays are at their highest strength. Intermittent periods spent in the shade are highly recommended to balance the UV dose you receive.
