What are Wrinkle Injections

Wrinkle injections are procedures where an active ingredient is injected into the treatment area to relax muscles that cause wrinkles. At anti-aging we use a superior and proven solution of muscle relaxing injections.

What is involved in treatment?

Anti-aging practitioners offer full consultation and assessment prior to any treatment. A small amount of solution is injected into the selected facial muscles using a very fine needle. The procedure only takes about 10 minutes and the discomfort is minimal and brief. After the injection, it takes about 5-7 days to notice the effect and 10 days for the full effect.

Is this treatment safe?

The solution has been used for cosmetic purposes for over 15 years and for medical purposes for over 25 years. In addition to it’s cosmetic use, the solution has been used to treat cerebral palsy in children and movement disorders in adults. Although the wrinkle injections have been used for many years they should not be used in pregnancy, lactating mothers and other medical conditions. It is very important to tell your cosmetic practitioner if you have health problems or on any medication prior to treatment.

Are side effects possible with wrinkle injections?

Although side affects do occassionally occur, all anti-aging cosmetic practitioners take particular care to minimise them. Minor side effects include bruising which may last 5-7 days, occassional reddness or swelling which usually goes in a few hour. More signicant side effects relate to dosage and positioning and that is why anti-aging cosmetic practitioners continue to undergo regular training and upgrading to fine tune their skills.
These more significant side effects include uneven results, poor or failed results, puffiness around the eyes and even mouth or eye droop if the wrinkle injections placement is inappropriate. These more significant side effects usually improve in 2-4 weeks and can improve quicker with appropriate care.

How long do wrinkle injections last?

It lasts for approximately 3 months, depending on the individual. The result will usually wear off progressively after 2 months as expression lines gradually return to their original appearance. The lines will never be worse after treatment. For some clients, the more often you have the treatment the less frequently it is required as the effects may last longer with each application.

What areas can be enhanced with wrinkle injections?

anti-aging cosmetic practitioners are continually pioneering innovative techniques in non surgical cosmetic procedures including:

Lines and wrinkles on the upper face

Frown Lines (between the eyes)

Crow’s Feet (lines on the sides of the eyes)

Horizontal brow lines

Eye brow lifts

Facial lifts upper and lower

Enlarging and opening up eyes

Softening lines under eyes

Softening the lines in the neck

Softening and improving the drooping mouth corners

Facial contouring.

Migraine management

Excess sweating in either or palms, feet and under arms.

How Selphyl® works

How does Selphyl® work?

Selphyl® has been featured in numerous TV shows and news programs such as The Doctors, ET Canada and CBC NewsThese programs covered the basics of how Selphyl® works, but here you will find more detailed information about the way Selphyl® rejuvenates the skin.
Imagine what happens when you cut your finger. First, there is blood, then a clot, and then the wound heals by growing new skin and then finally it goes away. If you look at the clot under the microscope you will see a mesh of fibers in which many blood cells are trapped. Such mesh is made by the body to stop bleeding, but then platelets that sit in the mesh start making special chemicals that tell surrounding tissue to regenerate, or to build new cells and fibers.
The idea of directing platelets to begin the rejuvenation of tissues exactly where we need it led to the creation of the process used in Selphyl®. While Selphyl® is a new thing in cosmetic medicine, the technology has been used by doctors for more than a decade in areas like burns, injuries and sports medicine.
During Selphyl® preparation, platelets are concentrated in blood plasma first (centrifuge) and then the process of clotting is started. When injected, the plasma is still liquid, but in 10 minutesa  clot is formed with platelets sitting in it. That clot is called Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix, or PRFM. Most importantly, platelets do not die but continue doing what they are good for - producing biologically active rejuvenation chemicals, which tell the skin to produce young cells and more collagen.
The result is younger skin with fewer wrinkles and increased tone and elasticity. Selphyl® is the only system that allows TRULY NATURAL tissue regeneration using your body's own ability to rejuvenate and increase skin volume. Unlike artificial fillers, Vampire Facelift® procedure with Selphyl® turns skin biologically younger (not just makes it look younger).

Ensuring safety for Botox and filler injections

Make sure your injector is both qualified AND experienced in giving injectable treatments. Find out how: http://bit.ly/1pEla1X

There are a variety of choices available when electing for a nonsurgical, injectable procedure. Whether you're looking to minimize wrinkles, add firmness to your face or provide a bit more plumpness to your cheeks, fillers can help greatly impact the structure and appearance of desired areas.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeryinjectables are some of the most commonly requested among patients. In 2013, more than 3.75 million people opted for injections of botulinum toxin in the form of BotoxDysport and Xeomin, while the total number of injectable procedures neared 6 million. As these operations continue to gain in popularity, several people have discovered cheaper - yet potentially lethal - methods for receiving injections.
