Wrinkle Injections: What are the Options?By Leslie Baumann, M.D.

Wrinkles are caused by loss of vital components in the lower level of the skin called the dermis.
There is no way to topically replace the building blocks of the dermis (collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid). There are, however, quite a few products - known collectively as dermal fillers - that dermatologists can inject into the dermis to temporarily restore your skin's volume and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and scars.
Are you shocked to learn that the first precursor of today's procedures was performed in 1893, when a doctor first took fat from a patient's arm and injected it into facial defects?
Dermal fillers are becoming more accessible, affordable, and natural-looking every day. Let's consider a few of the most popular fillers on the market (and keep in mind that many doctors use these products in combination to achieve the desired results):Dr. Baumann is author of the best-selling book, " The Skin Type Solution." To learn more about her revolutionary skin typing system, visit her Web site, SkinTypeSolutions.com

What is the best position to sleep to prevent wrinkles...

Your Back

Sleeping on your back has a variety of positive effects including significant wrinkle reduction, reducing acid reflux and preventing back and neck pain. From a wrinkle standpoint when you sleep on your back you have no unwanted forces pushing on your face. When sleeping on your back the skin & muscles in your face can sit in a neutral relaxed position. This allows for no unwanted creases for long periods of time in the skin. Creases over time will cause wrinkles.
Sleeping on your side can cause wrinkles
When you sleep on your side you can cause your face to be pushed up against one side. If you are a heavy sleeper who doesn’t toss and turn much in their sleep this pushed up skin could sit in that position for hours at a time. Multiply this over years of sleeping and you can see how it could effect the skin on your face in a negative fashion. However, sleeping on your side is good for snoring and also your spine because it is in an elongated position. If you have back problems it could be beneficial.

Sleeping on your stomach is the worst

Sleeping on your stomach has been rated as the worst position to be in. It creates the most stress on your body and can cause the most wrinkles. With such a large portion of the front of your body being pushed up the most amount of wrinkles could be forming.

The science of rejuvenation....

The science of rejuvenation

What is aesthetic medicine?

No longer willing to accept the visible signs of aging, an increasing number of women and men are seeking treatments to help them look as vibrant as they feel.
Thanks to aesthetic medicine, millions of people around the world can now look and feel younger for longer. A fast-growing field, aesthetic medicine is the art of rejuvenating skin and enhancing facial beauty through safe, physician-administered treatments based on breakthrough science.

About fillers and botulinum toxin Type A.

Most popular aesthetic treatments are fillers and Botulinum toxins, which are well-tolerated, injectable treatments that help, smooth the appearance of wrinkles or compensate volume deficits creating a beautiful appearance.
Botulinum toxins are purified substances that relax the facial muscles stop them from contracting and smooth the skin. The degree of muscle contraction impairment can be varied to soften the lines while maintaining the ability to elevate your eyebrows.

Botulinum toxin Type A is very well tolerated and safe for longer-term use.

Fillers plump up wrinkles by replacing lost volume in the skin creating a more youthful appearance. There are many types of wrinkle fillers; some of them are based on hyaluronic acid or collagens which are known for their safety and lifting capacity.

After Care

The swelling which initially occurs can be cooled in the first few hours after the procedure, thus facilitating rapid swelling recovery. The swelling generally subsides after 24-48 hours. For an injection using collagen, the skin can arch forward somewhat directly after the injection and the point of needle insertion may have reddened; both conditions disappear on their own in a short period of time.

If your wrinkles are treated using polylactic acid, it is normal for the wrinkles to deepen at first. The final result, a noticeable reduction of your wrinkles, begins to become visible gradually.
Proceed within caution when performing facial hygiene in the first days after the procedure. Anticoagulant medications should not be taken for a few days.

Wrinkle Injection Therapies

What are Wrinkle Injections?

Wrinkle injections are procedures where an active ingredient is injected into the treatment area to relax muscles that cause wrinkles. At anti-aging we use a superior and proven solution of muscle relaxing injections.

What is involved in treatment?

anti-aging practitioners offer full consultation and assessment prior to any treatment. A small amount of solution is injected into the selected facial muscles using a very fine needle. The procedure only takes about 10 minutes and the discomfort is minimal and brief. After the injection, it takes about 5-7 days to notice the effect and 10 days for the full effect

Upper Lip Wrinkle Removal- with wrinkle injections

Overview

Upper-lip wrinkles are the rather unattractive vertical lines that appear on or above the upper lip. These bothersome lines can make the application of lipstick and other makeup difficult and generally make a face appear aged. Everyday movements such as eating, talking and smoking can cause lip creases to appear, and overexposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays exacerbates the condition. Fortunately, several treatment options are available to help diminish or eliminate lip wrinkles.

Fresh Longer.com - Wrinkle Injections

Wrinkle injections

The desire to improve the way we look made cosmetic surgery one of the most appreciated fields of medicine. There are many procedures to treat wrinkles: Botox treatment, collagen injection, fat implants, laser, chemical peeling and more but now I will only discuss about wrinkle injections. Wrinkle injections are some alternatives for people who don’t want to go to extreme and chose plastic surgery. They are more faster and the recovery takes at most a few days.

April is National Stress Awareness Month

April is National Stress Awareness Month and boy do we need it. According to the American Psychological Association (2010), a majority of Americans experience moderate or high levels of stress, but are "stymied in their efforts to make changes."

And although science is increasingly showing the benefits of meditation for stress relief, many people have trouble getting started or even finding time for it. And for someone who is already stressed, even the thought, "I should learn to meditate," can be stressful.

Martin Boroson, author of One-Moment Meditation: Stillness for People on the Go, has been quietly, radically changing the way we think about meditation - helping tens of thousands of people get started meditating and integrate it into their lives. His core message is that meditation doesn't have to take a lot of time - it only takes a moment.

Wrinkle injections-Dr.Karsten Sawatzki

Dr.Karsten Sawatzki -plastic-aesthetic surgery

With increasing age, the skin loses moisture, thereby becoming less elastic. Small wrinkles initially form which, if no measures are taken, become increasingly deep, and accompanied by other small wrinkles. For wrinkling, mimic wrinkles are distinguished from orthostatic wrinkles.
Mimic wrinkles arise through contractions of the facial musculature, Folds on the forehead are very common, as are the so-called laughter lines around the mouth and eyes.
Orthostatic folds are a consequence of skin ageing and arise through the gravity which is a consequence of the ageing process. The fatty tissue in the subcutaneous layer sags and wrinkles form.

By virtue of extensively researched therapies, it is possible to remove mimic wrinkles and arrest orthostatic wrinkle formation in timely fashion through injections.
Botox treatment is the best known method of wrinkle injection. Alternatively, treatment with hyaluronic acid or collagen is possible. Own fat injection is a highly effective and gentle form of therapy. In this method, the patient’s own living fat cells are removed from a problem area under local anaesthesia and under a further local anaesthetic are injected under the skin of the regions affected by wrinkling using the finest needles. The injected fat cells remain alive through connection with blood vessels. The face works again in a fresh and youthful way. An own fat injection operation lasts for around one hour. On average, the healing phase lasts for one week.
As in the case of a face lift, this method can postpone a surgical operation for many years.
